Amd Fx 8150 Drivers For Mac10/19/2020
And as far as FPS gain, maybe CPU side not so much, but 10 more FPS with a decent GPU OC is pretty significant, coming from 60-70-ish FPS at 1440p.Press question mark to learn the rest of the keyboard shortcuts Log in sign up User account menu 4 IF YOUR AMD FX 8150 IS OVER HEATING THIS IS HOW TO FIX IT.As of recently, I have finally fixed my problem without spending a penny.
All you have to do is go to your BIOS, then set the memory boost clock to OFF. For me this set my temperatures down nearly 20-30 degrees Celsius. Although I lost a tiny amount of frames, I can now play games for longer than 30 minutes without my computer shutting down. Hope this helps anyone in need:) 47 comments share save hide report 59 Upvoted This thread is archived New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast Sort by best level 1 3 points 4 years ago Had same issue with 8350, cooled by h110, still had to turn off boost. At first, the cpu would throttle to 60-70 at stock settings, even though the socket and core temps didnt even exceed 60 and 40 respectively, throttling seemed to be a consequence of unstable vcore (dips to 0.8-0.9v). ![]() Amd Fx 8150 Full Load ForCPU temps still wont exceed 60 and 40 C but the mobo now reports roomtemp, chip now only seems to be throttling 2-3 under full load for multiple hours, which is nice, but Im a bit bummed out that I cant overclock it even the slightest without crashes. Either that or its the shitty mobo (old variation of the m5a97). I would make sure youve cleaned both the surfaces and reapplied thermal paste. If youre using a stock cooler and trying to overclock shame on you, youll need something far more adequate. First gen BD wasnt that bad that you couldnt tick up the multi a few notches. Im curious as to what OPs mobo is though, for a 20-30C drop just for disabling what I assume now to be turbo core. ![]() Continue this thread level 2 Original Poster 1 point 4 years ago Thats pretty much how my setup is level 1 2 points 4 years ago Some motherboards are notarious for jacking up CPU voltage way too high, when Boost is enabled, hance the high temperature. More likely unless you have a very high end motherboard its less than 140W or your VRMs would be up in smoke. Someone a few months back was wondering why their 8xx0 wasnt working well in some msi 760g board. Simple answer is that it cant handle the voltage pull on the 3 mediocre VRMs per choke, even at stock, much less with turbo core voltage adjustments being all loosey goosey. They werent going to dangerous levels, but uncomfortably close to the maximum safe operating temperature. Plus, I personally prefer to have cooler and quieter rather than higher performance. All that heat and noise for 1-3 extra FPS is just not worth it for me. I idle around 28-33C on a warm day (70-80f ambient), but thats running at 1.3v with an overclock to 4.6ghz and an OCd 390 in the case.
