Remove the wireless NIC from the bottom on the unit and look for PAD2 (should be in the corner next to where the antenni come out.Short this and restart the machine Again remove the wireless nic and look for jumper c738 or.Remove battery. Remove the memory cover screw, memory cover and the memory modules.Replace battery. Power up unit.
If all is well, replace memory cover and screw. Start it up it should then ask to pick either F1 - Continue or F2 - Setup. The support technician will verbally issue a Response Code to you. Enter the Response Code at the Response Code prompt, and press Enter. System is now starting up. Once Windows has finished loading, restart Windows: Start Shut Down Restart. Once the screen image is blank, press and hold the Esc key. Release the Esc key once you see the prompt: Check System, than press F1 Key 7. Registered will be highlighted. Press the spacebar to change Password Registered to Password. Press the spacebar and press Enter. The BIOS should respond with New Password. Press Enter again. The BIOS should respond with Verify Password. The BIOS should respond with Password Not Registered. Press the End key. The BIOS should respond with Are You Sure. Press Y. The computer will restart, and load Windows, without requesting a password.
